Success Story - Managed care organization avoids a violation from The Department of Insurance
A large managed care organization was undergoing an on-site regulatory examination by The Department of Insurance (DOI) when the examiner revealed that the organization had not met DOI's standards for compliance as it related to employee dishonesty coverage for a period of three years. In order to avoid being found non-compliant and the associated penalty, our client immediately alerted us to see if we could find a solution. A short window existed before examiners would leave and the violation would be officially documented.
In less than forty-eight hours, our agency along with the insurance carrier modified the policy language, went back retroactively on coverage for three years, and processed the endorsement for the examiner's file. As a result, our client avoided having the violation documented.
